FESTIVAL DATES: JUNE 25 - JULY 5, 2020

OVERVIEW

This unique summer festival & tour, collaboration with Korea's Mirae Somang School and Gyeryong City Children's Musical Chorus, will be and awesome experience of cultural immersion that you won't want to miss!

ORCHESTRAL STUDY & PERFORMANCE

Camerata International Music Festival provides students with intensive rehearsal and performance opportunities in three groups: Philharmonic, Sinfonia and Choir. These groups rehearse daily, receive regular sectional coaching sessions from our distinguished faculty, and perform on the last day of the camp. Repertoire for the orchestras and the choir consists of a variety of standard and contemporary works from the symphonic and choral literature.

All non-Camerata member students are required to audition for orchestral placement in March 2020.  Students will be placed in either Philharmonic or Sinfonia orchestras based on demonstrated preparation level and the instrumentation balance of the ensembles. Orchestral placement audition material and directions for all instruments will be sent to students after acceptance.

CHAMBER MUSIC STUDY AND PERFORMANCE

Chamber music is a great way for young orchestral members to further their musical training through a more intimate learning environment as well as additional performance opportunities.  Playing in such a small ensemble emphasizes the indispensable role of each musician and the critical elements of personal responsibility and collaboration. Imaginative and patient coaching makes practice intensive and fun.  Student ensembles rehearse and receive coaching sessions from our distinguished faculty every day. Opportunities to perform in student chamber music ensembles are available to all students. Chamber music groups are assigned by our faculty based on participants’ age and ability.

CHOIR STUDY AND PERFORMANCE

In addition to a daily chorus session and performance opportunities with the orchestra, choir members will receive special instructions in how to sing beautifully and effectively without harming their changing voices.

SEMINAR/LECTURE FOR NEXT GENERATION LEADERS

Seminar/lecture for next generation leaders will be scheduled. Young people have been at the core of every social movement in history and through our Leadership program we hope to identify the next generation of social change leaders. Empowering youth to become leaders is one of our top priorities.
